I Was a Feminist and I Didn't Know It': How Lady Pink Made a Space for Herself in the Boys Club of New York's Graffiti Scene |
Lady Pink quickly made a name for herself in the graffiti art scene, becoming one of the most prominent female artists in a male-dominated field. Her style blends realism and stylization with a feminist perspective and often features bright colors, bold lines, and a blend of realistic and stylized imagery that reflects her experience as a Latina growing up in New York City.
Fabara has been a vocal advocate for young artists and girls who are interested in graffiti art. She founded the first all-female graffiti crew, TC5 (the cool five) in 1980 and has since worked to promote diversity and representation in the arts . Lady Pink has also been involved in several organizations that support young artists, such as Groundswell and the Young Women's Leadership School.

I love how localized her art is; it's not only that graffitti is attached to a specific site, but that she also keeps her art confined to mostly NY as well!
